More crime reports

More crime reports from our immediate neighbourhood:
Hi all. On August 26th, someone slashed multiple vehicle tires (2 tires for each car) on 2nd ave. One of my neighbors whose house had an attempted (but not successful) break-in sent the follow-up note below where it appears they caught the slashers: "Hi Carl - the officer who responded to my break-in attempt told me about the tire slashing. He said they caught the guy & that's good news."

Dear Neighbors, Just wanted to let you know another burglary occurred on 7th and 122nd this week. Please keep your eyes open and your doors locked. This happened during the middle of the day. Any of you who do not work during the day, be especially aware of strangers in the neighborhood. Also another neighbor on 7th said two suspicious men came to her door in the evening and they were not trying to sell anything. These same neighbors had their car prowled, but nothing was damaged, just a few cds taken. Don't forget to lock your cars too! Keep safe!
If you have anything to report, please contact our blockwatch co-captains, Kelley and Vicki.

There was a home robbery Thurs, Sept 8th, 2011 at 8th Ave NW & 127th. The thief (or thieves) came in through the alley, clean cut a downstairs window out of the frame (this took sophistication, knowledge and tools), and stole a big screen TV, jewelry boxes with jewelry and ipods. A couple jewelry pieces were recovered in the alley. Since all the doors had deadbolts on them, the robber(s) went out through the sliding glass doors, across the deck and backyard to the alley. The robbery occurred sometime during the day. The police were called about 6 pm and showed up finally around 10 pm.

Please be alert to people and vehicles you don't recognize in the area.

Today (Monday Sept 12) another robbery occurred at 122nd and 7th Ave. NW. This morning after the residents left their house, someone came into their home and "cleaned them out."

They lost their computers, electronics, jewelery and other valuables. These friends even have a dog...apparently not much of a deterrent....

The police did tell them that this area has been "hit a lot."
